Lots of people are blogging about their personal life, about fashion, lifestyle, food or maybe life itself. If you want to do it the right way, then you have to put in some effort in the subjects, the writing, the photography, layout, and, maybe most important, social media. Not to mention the time you have to spend on it. You have to write something that’s easy to read and as well fun or interesting. It has to look good, so pictures are almost main priority.
We have a duo blog. Which means we are with the two of us and that’s really useful when one of the two has a “writers block” (if I may call it that way). Last week Ida wrote almost 3 articles and I only finished one that I’ve started a week before. But next week it can easily be the other way around. Another upside when blogging with a friend is the fact you always have a personal photographer and plenty of creative ideas.
I guess we’re lucky to work together for this blog. We really inspire each other and we’re always having a really good time working on it. I think that’s one of the most important things. That you enjoy working on your blog.
Last year I saw Essena O’neill on YouTube. She quit social media and modelling abruptly and that went viral. I don’t want to get into the subject of what she became or what she did at the time too much. I think there have been too many bloggers already that have spend their time on that. But one thing I still remember very well is what she said about taking pictures. Or someone was taking pictures of her and it sounded to me she was really feeling miserable, because she couldn’t capture the perfect picture. With her perfect smile, which was beautiful on every photo, but she couldn’t see it any more. She was shouting at the person (in this case a friend or family, can’t remember) who was trying to take a good picture of her and nothing was good enough. As you all know now, it was way out of reality. So what I’m trying to say here, is if you are blogging or want to start a blog. Please, please be yourself! And have a lot of fun!!
Don’t try to write because you have to. Because you have to show yourself to the outside world this week again. People will notice that you had no interest in writing at that moment and it will cost you followers/readers. If that post is the first post someone is reading from your blog, they will probably never come back, because they will notice your heart is not in it.
To end this, hopefully, interesting post, you can see how we take the “perfect” picture. In our case, just shoot and pick later! 😀
