When dreaming of Rome… I always find myself on a Vespa wandering the city from the Vatican to the Colosseum, eating lots and lots of Italian carbs, wasting money in the Trevi fountain, trying to get in the torture rooms of the Vatican, and so on.. Which is exactly what we are planning to do the coming 5 days. That’s right, we are going to Rome!
What people never tell you, is that searching for nice restaurants is one hell of a job. The good news is, I made a reservation for January 1st in one of the greatest restaurant in town, Adhoc. My friends are jealous of me going there, so it must be good. For new years eve we want to mingle in all the street parties they organise at every square in Rome (so says Google). But before that, we are still looking for a restaurant/winebar to have dinner. I’ve wasted so many hours searching for good and cute places to go, but I got lost in the many review sites and forums. The well known restaurants are having very expensive menus especially for new years eve. Other ones are not special enough and the rest.. I just don’t know where to search anymore. I’m afraid we’ll end up having dinner at MacDonalds or Burger King or so.
And just that, is also what I find the beauty of going to places you’ve never been before. We are so used to plan every step of the holiday, especially with internet available at every corner, that we forgot how to just relax and see what comes your way. Maybe we’ll do that this time. Just see what happens and hopefully we get lucky.
If you want to know more about our trip to Rome, stay tuned! I’m sure we will do just fine, but any tips are welcome. 😉
